About me

Hi, I'm Philip. I am 21 years old and currently work in McDonalds. I have always been interested in computers ands have wanted to make games, programs and videos for as long as I can remember.

I started making games using STOS Basic at the age of 7 on an Atari ST. Finally, when I was 11 my parents got a computer and since then I have been doing pretty much everything you can imagine on it. I started with game design using Clickteam products (I started with Klik n Play, hence my name). After starting college I also began mapping for the Source engine, and designed websites for a Counter Strike Source clan that I was part of / in charge of. Being clan leader also meant that I had to learn to set up and run a dedicated server. I also made several games with Tommyttk. They haven't ever been that polished or good, but we have learned many things from them and every time we make one, we get better!

I finished college with an A in maths and business studies, a B in English Language and a C in physics and moved on to Warwick University to study Accounting and Finance. I can't say it was the happiest time of my life but during the three years there I learned to make music on the computer and gained over 10,000 subscribers on my youtube channel, dedicated to tutorials for map development using the Source engine. I've never been the best at finishing the projects I start, so tutorial-making allows me to help others who CAN finish what they start.

I am probably best known for the tutorial series and hope to extend my tutorials into other areas. I believe the key to my success is that I respond to questions as quickly as possible. I have amassed a huge amount of feedback regarding my tutorials and regularly update them to ensure that they cover the issues that people have trouble with. I am tired of tutorials with long, skippable sections and I hope that my tutorials are informative, straight to the point and entertaining to watch, since those are the sorts of tutorials that I would like to follow myself. I feel that video tutorials are the future and I would like to do my bit by raising the standards a little bit higher.

I finished my degree in 2011, getting a 2-1 in Accounting and Finance from Warwick University. Since then I have been working in McDonalds- job that I have held down since I left school 5 years ago. In my spare time I have been working on getting everything nice and tidy on my PC, gradually archiving hundreds of gigabytes of media that my family has amassed over the years, while at the same time keeping every computer in the house in a working state. Not as easy as it sounds, trust me! I don't know where the future will take me... and never have done. I guess that's why I end up doing so much random stuff!
